Privacy / Datenschutz

Avel24 is in private beta. We collect the minimum required to operate the service:

Account: your e-mail address and a password hash, stored with AWS Cognito in the EU (Frankfurt, eu-central-1). Used solely for sign-in and beta administration.
Routing: routes are computed on your device. Your departure points, destinations and routes are not transmitted to our servers.
Weather data: your browser downloads weather bundles from our CDN; standard technical server logs (IP, time, URL) apply and are used for operation and abuse prevention only.
No tracking: no advertising, no analytics cookies, no profiling. The only local storage is your session and your language preference.

Deletion: write to steven@avel24.com and your account and its data are removed. Data controller: see Impressum. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure and complaint to a supervisory authority (Art. 15–21 GDPR).

Beta terms / Nutzungsbedingungen (Beta)

Avel24 is provided free of charge during the private beta, "as is", without any warranty of availability or accuracy.
Not for navigation: Avel24 is decision support. It is no substitute for the skipper's judgment, official nautical charts and publications, or safe seamanship. The skipper remains solely responsible for the vessel and crew at all times.
Weather, ocean and depth data come from third-party sources (DWD, Copernicus Marine, EMODnet, BSH) and can be wrong, delayed or incomplete.
Beta access is personal and can be suspended or withdrawn at any time.
Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence to the extent permitted by law.

Current: Copernicus Marine Service.
Bathymetry: EMODnet Bathymetry.
